Hey beth, is dreamboat one word or two?

alright, here by popular demand...a new post.

So I'm reading Barack Obama's book right now. There is a lovely dreamboatish picture of him on the front cover(which makes me love it oh so much more) and that photo leads me to wonder will Barack (if he runs and if he is elected) have been elected because he is a "dreamboat" or because of his great ideas. And furthermore those of us who do believe in his ideas, should we care why he gets elected as long as he does?

Check this out:

Starting with Kennedy there seems to be this pattern of ridiculously funny looking republicans and moderately attractive democrats(with the exception of carter...how did that happen?) Middle America obviously has temporary amnesia when it comes to their beliefs when an attractive democratic candidate enters the ring...hmm interesting. I think the funny looking republicans just used mind control.

Which brings me to point out that everything, EVEN PEOPLE are designed.

ha! dreamboat, by its very definition thatijust made up right now, is about the whole package. im sure i could come up with several examples of fine looking gentlemen(though somehow not a single one crosses my mind) that are NOT dreamboats because they don't share my specific political beliefs, have other dreamboat characteristics such as intelligence or extraordinary grace, generosity, or charisma.

what im really looking forward to is you hitting on a guy by saying 'i like your design'.

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha that shall be my signature line!

and yes for you perhaps dreamboat is about the whole picture but do you really think the majority of the population is looking at it that way?

well i certainly dont expect the general population to agree with who i designate 'dreamboat' but i can recognize, at the very least, that obama is good looking and charismatic...

though he doesnt hold a candle to giuli-hottie.

When I say people are designed I don't mean god came down and made you in particular a certain way I mean the way you dress yourself the way you speak, the persona you create for yourself, or the persona your publicist creates for you.

No. take the 1960 election. Kennedy was camera ready, and a smmooth operator. Nixon looked like shit on a stick and stuttered.

exactly, see people only elect good looking democrats, thats why kerry and gore failed.

and they only vote for the spindoctor republicans in the absence of attractive democratic candidates...

thus the presidency revolves around the attractiveness of the democratic candidate. kind of pathetic really.

that is a terrifying thought, but probably true.

nixon only won against that ugly ass humphreyguy.
